How To Cure Your Incurable Nasal Allergy

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By Alexander Chong Immunoglobulin E is an antibody, which is secreted from the white blood cell as a defense agent in our body. It helps us defending bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms, which attack our body. Once the immunoglobulin E attaches to the mast cell, histamine chemical will be secreted from this cell. Histamine is the main cause of nasal allergy. It causes the blood vessel in the mucous membranes swelling and leaking of fluid. Swelling causes congestion inside the nasal passages and the leaking of fluid causes runny nose. When the nasal allergy becomes critical, mucous membranes will become inflammatory and itching. Because the main cause of the nasal allergy is histamine, therefore, scientist has synthesized a few types of antihistamine medications to block the reaction of histamine with its receptors on cells and reduce the severity of the allergic symptoms. These medications are like diphenhydramine, chlorpheniramine, fexofenadine, loratadine, cetirizine, terfenadine, clemastine and astemizole. Diphenhydramine, chlorpheniramine, cetirizine and clemastine will cause drowsiness. While, fexofenadine and loratadine will cause less drowsiness. Terfenadine and astemizole wont cause any side effect but they have interact effect with some of the antifungal and antibiotics medication Besides, corticosteroids hormone is used to reduce the inflammation and itching in the nasal passages. Usually, inflammation is coming together with the nasal allergy. Actually, our body could secrete this hormone by itself from the adrenal gland. It controls the sensitivity of our body immune system. If the level of this hormone in our body is too high, it may cause our immune system inert to the attack from viruses or bacteria. If its level is too low, it will cause us become hypersensitive. Nasal allergy is due to the low level of this hormone. Therefore, applying this hormone onto the mucous membranes (topically) as a nasal spray or taken by mouth (orally) could reduce or prevent inflammation of the nasal mucous membranes by altering the actions of various cells of the immune system. Nowadays, this hormone is the most common medication that the medical doctor will prescribe to the patient who suffers critical nasal allergy. However, utilizing this hormone too frequent could cause some side effects such as burning sensation in the nose, unpleasant aftertaste and nosebleeds. Nasal allergy could be cured by practicing yoga. Yoga is a stretching exercise combing with deep breathing. Many people are turning to yoga to cure various types of illness such as insomnia, anxiety disorders, back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, diabetes, fibromyalgia , infertility, menopause, shingles, stress and varicose veins. Practicing yoga is more natural than taking medicine and it does not have any side effect as long as you learn it from a qualify instructor. Once you have mastered the technique, you can practice it anytime when you are free. Nasal allergy also could be cured using natural crystal. The main compound in the crystal is silicon dioxide. The variety of the crystal color is due to the existence of trace amount of transition elements. Different color crystal has different energy. We can see this energy using aura spectrophotometer. Nasal allergy is due to the insufficiency of certain energy in the patient body. By using crystal, nasal allergy patients can increase this energy in their body by absorbing from the crystal. Crystal is a tool that is used to transfer energy from the earth to our body. Our earth is a living planet and there are a lot of creatures living on its surface. Once the crystal energy has been completely consumed, we usually bury this crystal under the soil and let it absorbs the earth energy. Using crystal to cure nasal allergy is the most economic way and easiest method because it can be wore in our body as a wristlet or necklace whenever we want. How To Establish A Base Tan Without Getting Burned

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Angie Maroevich Lets face it. A nice tan makes you look and feel great. Plus, it can hide ugly cellulite and also make you appear thinner! If you are going on a trip or you simply want to look good for an event thats coming up, its important to establish a base tan. Here are some 10 indoor tanning steps to help you achieve a nice base tan without getting burned*. By the way, if you are hesitant about using an indoor tanning bed but want to get a tan, try a UV-free spray tan like Mystic Tan. Otherwise, the steps below will help guide you through the UV indoor tanning process: 1. Be careful if you are on any prescription medications: blood pressure medications, antibiotics, skin problem medications are just a few categories of drugs you preferably should not be taking if you are tanning or spending lots of time outdoors. Refer to the photosensitizing medication chart in your local tanning salon to be sure the medications you are taking are not listed. These medications can effect the results of your tanning, making it more difficult to tan and you are more prone to burning. 2. Always use a good quality indoor tanning lotion. It will help your skin to absorb the UV, which will aid in the tanning process. There are also special ingredients that stimulate melanin production, such as Tyrosine, which will give you the most out of every tanning session. Your skin tends to dry out during the tanning process and if you dont use a good quality indoor tanning lotion, your skin will exfoliate faster, become more dry and flaky, and you will lose your tan faster. So the bottom line: for a deeper, darker, longer lasting tan, you need to use quality indoor tanning lotion. Its best to apply indoor tanning lotion immediately prior to your session or 1-2 hours prior is even better if you can. Applying it ahead of time allows your skin to absorb the lotion better so you will get the best results from your tanning session. 3. Apply after tan lotion as well to take care of your skin and keep it moisturized. Apply it twice daily at a minimum to keep your skin happy, once in the morning and again at night before bed. This also can enhance your tan and make it longer lasting- the key to a great tan is healthy skin! 4. If you are just beginning to tan, remember to start out conservative. Whatever you do, you dont want to burn- you cannot tan on top of a burn and you will have to start over. The old saying I always burn first and then I tan is completely false, it simply does not have to be this way. If you burn, your skin is telling you that its getting too much sun, and then you will peel. So start out with a low number of minutes and work your way up. If you have fair skin but do have the ability to tan, you should not go more than 6-7 minutes your first time in a standard 20 minute tanning bed (also known as a Level 1 tanning bed). For stronger beds with shorter tan times, you would go for even less minutes. 5. Go once every 24-48 hours to build your base. Depending on how well your skin is doing, you can decide whether you can go once a day or once every other day. A good rule of thumb is if your skin is not pink within the 24 hours after your session, you can probably go again the next day without any problem. If your skin is pink, feels dry and itchy, or you get a rash, this is a signal that you went for too many minutes and need to take a break until it feels better and then start over again. 6. Once you build up your base, you really dont need to tan as often. So depending on the type of bed you are using, you should only go 2-3 times per week to keep your tan, even less in stronger beds. This is where I see many people go overboard, tanning every day when it is really not necessary. Many people enjoy the relaxation time that tanning provides, but tanning too often can and will speed up your aging process and potentially cause other skin ailments over a long period of time. Just like everything else in life, moderation is key! 7. Wear eye goggles at all times! Many people think that putting a towel over their face will block the UV rays, but it doesnt and repeated UV exposure can cause major eye problems later in life. Would you rather be blind or have lighter eyelids? I think I would choose the latter, but that is just me. For your own safety, please wear the eye goggles! 8. Since indoor tanning does not require the use of a bathing suit, use a towel to cover those sensitive areas that dont see the sun very often if you want to tan all over. In the beginning, try covering those areas for half the session and see how it goes. Gradually you can remove the towel earlier and earlier until you dont need to use one anymore. The towel acts as a filter but wont completely block the UV rays, so you are still getting the tanning process started. 9. To avoid getting creases or pressure tanning lines, you should move your limbs into different positions during your session. For the first half, try laying down with both arms extended above your head and legs apart. For the second half, bring your arms down next to your sides but away from your body, and re-position your legs by raising one knee slightly for a half of the remaining time, and then the other leg do the same thing. 10. Try to avoid wearing make-up, deodorant, or other perfumes prior to tanning. Some of these things can make your skin more sensitive and possibly have a bad reaction with your skin when exposed to UV. If you wear a lot of deodorant, you may notice that you are not tanning as well around your armpits, and you need to remove this prior to tanning. When it comes to tanning, every persons skin type is different and results will vary. Consult with your local tanning salon for a skin type analysis (from a Smart Tan Certified Tanning Consultant) so you can get a good idea of where to start. * Also, ask your doctor for his or her advice if you have any specific medical questions or concerns. 2005 Angela Maroevich ================================================================ Angela Maroevich (everyone calls her Angie) is a salon owner, entrepreneur, and athlete. Simpler Living - Ditch the House

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By J Allen Sound drastic? Maybe so, and admittedly its not for everyone. But for those who may be at the place where theyre open to considering a lifestyle change or ways to free up time to pursue other interests, read on. Most of us get to this point due to various life changes, but for others, being tied to a house & property is already beginning to provide less feeling of security and seems more of an anchor. Even if thats the case but the time for an alternative isnt right, use this information in planning for the future. Houses have many ways of becoming little monsters requiring continuous care and feeding, while they grow to consume ever-increasing amounts of time & money. Having for most of my life owned several of them ranging from small to quite large, I can attest to the fact they are amazingly demanding. Especially if we maintain them properly so they retain or increase their value, and provide a comfortable and attractive domicile. Whether bought new or pre-owned seems to make little difference. Things like brick and stone exteriors of course reduce painting, and there are other maintenance time-savers, like sprinkler systems, but nothing eliminates the need for continual upkeep. There is always something that leaks, breaks, wears out, needs painting, caulking, or other repair. The list is endless from plumbing and appliances, to heat, AC, roofs and pools. As seasons change, its the same. Each year, we spend large sums of money and tons of time with lawns, landscaping, fences, pools, gardens and more. On top of that, there is the inevitable remodeling as needs & tastes change, plus avoiding negative impact on resale value due to outdated dcor. Something many folks never consider is how much it costs just to have a house, especially if expenses like property taxes and insurance are escrowed as part of a mortgage payment. But if you make those annual payments directly, they can be quite hefty, and for large properties, the monthly tax bite easily exceeds the mortgage payment for a small house. Also for large houses, the incremental energy expenses for electricity and gas to heat, cool and illuminate them are often wasted on space no longer used. The point is, we spend a lot of time and money, in many plain and subtle ways, for the privilege of owning a home. And theres nothing wrong with doing so, if thats what we want. It can be a nice feeling to have carved out our small piece of the world and tend to it. In fact, attending to all the little projects, and caretaking can be a therapeutic diversion, especially if our day job is mostly mind work at a desk, or stressful in some way. But if were past all that, either tired of it, or otherwise wanting something different, consider the alternative of chucking it all and finding an apartment or condo to either rent or own. Debating the advantages of owning or renting is a topic for other articles. One can actually make a case for either approach, and it ultimately comes down to personal preference. Depending on budget, the desired amenities can be had either way, but in general, one can usually get more and do less by renting, plus there is the added advantage of staying unencumbered and mobile. Advantages can be broken into a couple categories: reduction or elimination of upkeep, and increased amenities. The former is more about saving time and money while still having an attractive, well-maintained place to live, while the latter has to do with the things we have use of without the associated costs of building, buying, storing, or maintaining them. As an aside, the whole idea of getting rid of a house as a step toward a new lifestyle, usually also involves disposing of excess stuff. This whole process is another subject, but in short, we are likely to achieve even more success and freedom by eliminating the accumulated baggage of years past. It can be strangely liberating not to be tied to a lot of things. If one has spent significant years in a house, the advantages of an apartment or condo may not be immediately apparent. Beautiful surroundings are there to be enjoyed with none of the chores of keeping them up. Lawns are groomed, trees and shrubs pruned, everything watered, fertilized & weeded, and every season, fresh flowers planted. Pools, grills, gardens, patios, and outdoor areas are always ready for use. Various outside recreation is available depending on the property, and ranges from volleyball to the beach, to golf. Some places offer extensive fitness centers, saunas & massage, gyms for aerobics or basketball, and courts for racquetball and squash. Also inside are business centers including conference rooms, computing facilities, libraries, billiard & pool rooms, party areas for groups, media rooms & theaters, and concierge services for nearly everything else one might want or need. Also, there are no concerns about upkeep and repairs. Its someone elses job to keep everything in working order. If its broke, call maintenance. Most all places change out air conditioner filters, and some replace light bulbs. The degree to which one can be accommodated varies widely accordingly budget and personal preference, but even modest means benefit from the basics, and realize substantial time savings. Selecting an apartment or condo that delivers all one wants, requires as much, if not more effort than choosing a house. Living many years in a house can cause us to forget some of those less obvious considerations. If you havent lived in this type environment since leaving home or graduating college, then youll want to do some prep work to ensure ending up with the kind of accommodation desired. Check out articles on what to look for that are tailored to renting or owning apartments and condominiums. If youre ready for something different, a way to create more free time, reduce expenses, enjoy a comfortable, less demanding lifestyle, then pursuing this alternative will take you a long way toward meeting those goals. Everything Your Mother Never Told You About Marriage

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Robyn Johnson We search endlessly for that perfect “soul” mate, our “true love” that we can spend the rest of our lives with, have children, raise a family, grow old, etc. We are tired of the “dating” scene, we want to settle down and get married. However, once we do, we realize that it is not all that it is “cracked” up to be. You call you mother and say…”Hey, how come you never told me that marriage was this hard?” The current popularity of chick flicks, reality TV dating shows, books, and courses all portray dating and finding that right certain someone is an emotional roller coaster and soul searching journey. Once you have proclaimed your love, so to speak, you have fulfilled this destiny and will live in eternal marital bliss….Realistically, the day you get married is only the beginning of figuring how to keep two different people — no matter how well-suited — living and growing together for the next 50 years. It is the beginning of toilet seats being left up, the cap on the toothpaste being left off, the pile of shoes at the door, and the dispersing of household chores and allowances starts all over again. And, this is all pre-children. Once you have children, all of these issues and MORE pop up in your marriage. Your workload doubles. Of course, you will glean advice from your other friends and family. Advice such as; never go to bed angry, communicate, and compromise. But these are tools (albeit good ones). They dont get at some very basic truths: You Will Not Always Like — Let Alone Feel Loving Toward — Your Spouse. We all know couples who say they were born to be together. But more often than not, successful relationships are created by two willing and able individuals who have enough commonalities and chemistry to try to make a go of it. That means your spouse does not have 100 percent of the qualities on your mental checklist. I learned early on that my husband and I were completely different in so many ways, and yet we were very much in love! There were so many times that I did not like him anymore, and I wondered what I saw in him in the first place. Once we had our girls, this fleeting thought became a constant theme at times in our marriage. I would get so frustrated, as did he. Although we are still married today, we constantly have to work at it. I still have days where I question my sanity and HIS. It is on these days that his less than “exceptional” qualities grate on my every last nerve more prominently than others. Thats okay. Because I finally deduced that it is not realistic to think that two wholly separate people — regardless of how well-matched they are — are going to think alike and get along every day of the remainder of their married life together. Hormones get out of whack. There are bad days at work. Daily life becomes cumbersome. Just be aware that the positive days outweigh the negative. My husband and I like to look at our marriage as a business relationship. It is something that has to be taken seriously, managed, and goals have to be set and reset all the time. It is not always about love, romance, passion, and yes “sex”, it is about respect, individuality, and friendship. We live in an ever changing society, nothing is constant and neither is your marriage. You have to be able to adjust and make changes with your spouse. As long as you both have the same mission statement, then you will both end up on the same side most of the time. Copyright 2005 Robyn A. Consider a Las Vegas Wedding

Friday, October 26th, 2007

By Michael Russell What a wonderfully happy couple you are! You had an absolutely whirl wind of getting engaged, telling half the world about your future nuptials and a sweet engagement party given by both of your best friends. You two are so much in love and so excited about spending the rest of your lives together. After all the excitement of getting engaged it occurs to you that you have a huge wedding to plan on a pretty small budget. You start fighting over silly things such as flower arrangements and who is to sit with whom at the reception. This is starting to not be fun or romantic any more and you now wish you could just run away and get married because that is all that really matters in the end. A Las Vegas Wedding may be what you are looking for. Months of stress is not worth it when you can go to “Sin City” and have a much better time, get it done quickly and enjoy the rest of your lives without being in huge debt. Las Vegas, Nevada is the marriage capital of the world. It is host to over 100,000 marriages a year. There are a lot of reasons for this. The weather is absolutely gorgeous in Vegas, with over 320 sun filled days a year. This makes it a great honeymoon destination with lots of things to do. Anything from the typical gambling in its many casinos, glitzy Vegas entertainment, golfing, clubbing and pool side relaxation. Whatever is your whim, Las Vegas has it all. Most importantly, marriage in Vegas in easy and pretty painless. There is no waiting period or blood tests required. All you need to obtain your marriage license is $55.00 (along with a fianc of course) and being the legal age of 18 and able to prove it. Vegas weddings vary with the couple’s individual style and budget. You can have a black tie affair with the works in a beautiful location with a lavish reception if that is your desire. All of the hotels and casinos in the area offer many beautiful ceremony and reception sites complete with onsite wedding planners. Maybe you are a little bit wild and crazy and want to do it up “Elvis style” complete with an Elvis impersonator presiding and singing over your nuptials. For those flighty and impatient individuals, how about renting a really cool car and hitting a drive-thru wedding chapel? Your imagination is your only obstacle when it comes to a Vegas wedding. In Vegas, you can have it your way without the muss and fuss you would experience with a typical traditional wedding in your home town. It does not take months to design your dream Vegas wedding. If you are a more organized individual you may start planning it before you actually get there. Between some phone calls and internet research of locations and wedding packages it can be done in a day or two if you are keeping it fairly simple. For those going for something more spur of the moment, why not just fly there and see what happens? Once you get there and start talking to people you can get a great idea of what some of the better chapels are around and make your decision then. However you do the Vegas wedding make it begin and end with fun and by all means memorable. Although the motto of Las Vegas is “whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” you will be bringing your Vegas wedding and marriage home with you and you want it to be remembered with love and warm feelings. Building Your Business On The Golf Course-1

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By Dan Boever Those of us who seek to grow our business are always looking for ways to gain an advantage. We scour the business section in bookstores, we order sales and marketing magazines, we surf the net and watch the tube hoping to find that next great idea. We all are looking for an advantage in the marketplace and we are often ready and will to pay for it. New books and magazines will continue to flow but the basics on business growth will always stay the same. One age old principle is this; build solid relationships and you can build a successful business. In the next few article’s we will discuss some tips on how using golf as a business tool can give you an advantage in the marketplace. We are in the middle of a microwave world looking for a quick fix to all our daily tasks. Email, voice mail, fax machines, text messaging, and the ever-present gatekeeper make it tough to get quality time with prospects and customers. How can we find time to get to know our prospects and clients better? The answer? How about a five to six hour meeting next Tuesday at noon? Yes, you read it correctly. Try this, “Mr prospect I will meet you for lunch next Tuesday at noon, followed by a short stint on the driving range at 12:45. At 1:06 we are going to enjoy the day with any two guests you choose to bring. See you there, and oh, by the way I have picked up some brand new Titleist Pro V 1’s for the round. We’ll see what the buzz over this golf ball is all about.” That is my plan, what is yours? “Hey Joe, I’ll drop by your office next Tuesday so we can go over my latest proposal. You will need to block off time on your calendar from 1:00-5:30 pm. Thanks, I will see you then.” Gimme a break! Who has five hours to blow on a meeting with you? I’ll tell you who, the person that loves to play golf and cannot wait to get out of the office for the afternoon. Will you always get the time? No. But you will have plenty of people work real hard to find a way to meet with you. We always find time to do the things we love to do don’t we? Plan #1-Meet your contact at the office from 1:00 to 5:30. Good luck! Plan #2-Lunch and a tee time at an area course or high end country club? Advantage: Plan #2 The next article will cover some specifics on turning a day at the golf course into a growing business relationship. The Best Way To Burn Fat Is Not By Jogging

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

By Brian Johansson There are many diets out there that have been started by many different people. Most diets have a biological principle behind them that is verifiable. The problem is that most everybody’s metabolisms react differently. From low-carb to lots of exercise, many people experience pitfalls while they try to lose weight and keep it off. There are some very simple things that you can do to test your body and find out what works best for you. One of the first things that people are confused over is exercise. You can spend tons of time on a treadmill and see very little results. This is because aerobic exercise like jogging is not an efficient form of burning excess fat. Runners will be thin because they run enough to give their body no choice but to burn the fat and they usually maintain a healthy diet that supports such a lifestyle. For the average person, we don’t want to spend hours a day exercising. It is also almost certain that if you try to alter your daily routine by that much, you will quit. Without the correct nutrients like omega 3 and omega 6, aerobic exercise actually will burn muscle instead of fat. This will cause you to have less muscle that could be burning fat. The key to losing unwanted fat is weight training. This does not require heavy weights or much time. Many health clubs have a circuit training program that emphasizes doing one set of 10 - 20 weight training exercises. This will help build a healthy amount of muscle that raises your metabolism even when you are at rest. It is always recommended to also do some aerobic exercise like walking or jogging as well, but you don’t have to spend an hour doing it. Twenty minutes of aerobic exercise and a balanced diet will help maintain your body’s health. You will see the best results in maintaining your body fat levels from weight training. Business Cards and Business Etiquette

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By Jake Gourd Complying with popular etiquettes that are prevalent in the region where one is working plays an important role in determining the success level of a persons commercial endeavour. People around the world follow certain etiquettes relating to big business issues and even issues as small as designing a business card. Following customary decorum for smallest details in a business matters pave ways to success. An act of designing business cards according to prevalent protocol in the region leaves a lasting impression on the recipient of the card. Business card is the first introduction about a person himself and his business. Paying due attention on the presentation and design of business card can never be over emphasized. Great art and excellent skill is required to design an eye-catching business card that would fetch great commercial opportunities. Being familiar with business etiquette around the world makes it easy for a person to feel at home and be confident in his business dealings even on foreign land. The process starts from knowing and practising popular etiquette of business card design. Different parts of world have varying rules about visiting card etiquette. What may be highly desirable in one region might be least significant in other areas. But one needs to know about the popular convention before one could follow it. Some general rules are commonly accepted worldwide. Business cards internationally are a means of representing ones business contact details. Though good business etiquette promotes business opportunities it is not the only deciding factor in a business relation. While a person is travelling to different parts of the world, having the opposite side of the business card translated to the native language of the region speaks volumes about his concern for business dealings in that area. Business cards could be exchanged at the beginning or at the end of any commercial meeting. When receiving a visiting card of the person one is expected to comment on it and also clarify any curiosity relating to it before putting the card away. About different specific etiquettes prevalent in various parts of the world, UK has very relaxed rules for business cards. Though such cards are expected to be clean and presentable it is not compulsory to hand over business cards to every person you meet in the UK. On the contrary the Japanese think that business cards are very important, hence high quality cards are desirable here. Business cards should be accepted as courteously as one would receive a person. The card must contain the title of the person as great importance is given to status and hierarchy in Japan. It can be handed over by one hand but should always be received with two hands. In China having Chinese characters on the business card printed in gold is considered a good etiquette, as gold is a fortunate colour. Translating the card should be done in suitable Chinese language, Cantonese or Mandarin. Favourable points about your company, like if it is the largest or oldest must be specifically mentioned on the card also while offering it the card it must be held by both hands. Scribbling on someone elses card is indeed a resentful act. Written for Goodprint Ltd, providors of instant online business cards and matching stationery via their website http://www.goodprint.co.uk. Children and Their Puppets

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

By Alan Ross Definition tells us a puppet is a small figure of a person operated from above with strings by a puppeteer. Ironically, a person who is controlled by others and is used to perform unpleasant or dishonest tasks for someone is also referred to as a puppet. Making a Puppet At Home Making a puppet at home may not save you money, but children love a home grown puppet endless. Their imaginations start flying while you are at work with your puppet. They start off on a fantasy trip imagining stories and characters they have heard. Well here is how you make a puppet at home. Materials you require: You dont need more than a couple of wooden spoons, color brush and ribbon, scissors, cardboard and paint. Dont forget the glue. Making it: Choose the favorite animal of your child to begin with. You need not be altruistic about choice of colors. Choose a pleasant color to wash the cardboard and the spoons with. Cutout two ears from the cardboard and glue them onto the spoons after embellishing. Paint the face, eyes, nose and mouth. Finish it with colorful ribbons around its neck tied like your child wanted. The easiest you can make at home is a doll with a hollow head of a person or animal and a cloth body; which fits over your hand and manipulated with the fingers. This is not to discourage buying of puppets. Instead you have the freedom to choose from 1000s of varieties plus the mechanized varieties. Not to mention the thrill you give your child wandering through the toy store. Alan Ross is a regular article contributor on many topics.
